Lisbon, City of Ancient Egyptian Wonders, by Abraham I. Fernández Pichel

Since 2023 the Faculdade de Letras of the Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal) has been promoting the development of Egyptology and the reception of ancient Egypt in contemporary popular culture.

Egypopcult is the first project of its kind to be funded by a governmental institution worldwide (FCT Portugal).

We would simply like to thank here the Lisbon students involved in the project for their work. As an acknowledgement, we publish today this illustration, drawn by the Spanish comic author Jesús C. Gan.

The picture shows (from left to right): Joana Gomes, Margarida Sobral, Guilherme Mateus, Marta Silva and Esperanza Ródenas.

I thank you all! You are not only great students. You will be soon excellent scholars!
